Biography

Alma R. Mireles-Monsivais works for the non-profit-organization, Denver Youth Programs/GRASP (Gang Rescue And Support Project), where is the A*I*M Program Coordinator for the Denver Health team. Alma’s work focuses on strengthening relationships within the hospital system, providing bedside interventions, trauma-informed care, culturally appropriate advocacy, and support services to youth and families in the Denver Metro Area. She is particularly dedicated to supporting the Spanish-speaking community, which is often underserved. Alma also serves on various committees both locally and nationally that align with her work and mission. She holds a degree in Paralegal Studies, is a certified Moral Recognition Therapy Facilitator, Violence Prevention Professional, Restorative Justice Facilitator, HAVI Training Faculty member, member of the leadership team for Center of Addiction Medicine at Denver Health, and Traditional Medicine Practitioner. Alma is also an experienced community organizer and activist. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the outdoors, crafting, family time, and cooking traditional foods.
